Tons of things happened this week in Mrs. F's class. To get ready for our last math test, we did "The Sum Times." On Wednesday, we had the test! It was LONG. In Daily 5, we learned how to write a new poem. We wrote our own diamontes. The Saguaro Cactus started to grow very slowly too!!! The Ferguson Foals are in Inning 8 of Baseball Bonanza. The game's almost over! We had a very exciting week of second grade!

Many things happened our fourth to last week of second grade! We started counting down the number of days until third grade (Can you tell?). Everyone took their last spelling test of second grade. For our last lesson with Mrs. S, we made a foal picture. In math we reviewed what we did this year to get ready for our end of the year assessment. We wrote a couplet and haiku during Daily 5. We hope these are some of the days we will remember from our second grade year!

Many things happened this week! Our class did baseball math and made the Mariners' symbol. We worked a lot on sound and did three experiments. Everyone worked on a new box book report. In math we are learning multiplication and division. During Daily 5 we are practicing using apostrophes in contractions and possessives. These are some of the things we did this week!

Lots was up in room 18 and at Discovery this week! We learned about the ear and did a sound experiment. Mrs. F got out some new poetry books for us to read. We wrote a bio-poem and started typing it. Our water lilies were in the school Art Show! The whole school started a contest to see who would be the CARES artists for the 2011-2012 school year. These are some of the fun things that happened this week!

Tons of things were great about our 2nd Grade Concert and Ecology Expo! We sang "Banana" at our concert. Our class played "The Chinese Ribbon Dance on instruments. We gave our moms their Mother's Day gifts. We also showed our work, including our Baseball Stamps. Our families saw EVERYTHING!!! These are some of the wicked awesome things about our concert and expo.

Lots of work was going on in grade 2 this week! We wrote our stories for Ecology Expo. Our final drafts are typed and bound like a book. The whole second grade had a rehearsal for our concert. We also made a model with clay of our organism. In math we are working on making change and place value. We wrote a poem for our moms and made a special gift. It was a crazy, hard, and thoughtful week!

Awesome things happened in grade two this week! We learned about the horned lizard. The whole class worked on improving Mrs. F's super boring paragraph in pairs and individually. In Daily 5, we also started book reports and learned about shortcut words. In the computer lab, we started All the Right Type. Mrs. F and the class finished reading Matilda and started to the movie too! These are the cool things we did this week.
