Lots of things happened in our room this week! Our class made big hearts for the specialists to tell them what we LOVE about their class. We started practicing for the Stanford. In writing we learned how to make a hamburger writing map. In math we did a goal check. In science we started our Nature Journals. We also made raindrops from waxed and tissue paper. These are the cool things we did!

We did thousands of things in our class this week! We made a sun, clouds, and snowflakes for our unit on weather. In spelling we thought of words with short o and long a. In math we started counting to a googol. We also celebrated LOTS of 1/2 birthdays! We changed our desks into a horseshoe. These are some of the interesting, fun, and awesome things we did!

Many things happened in Mrs. F's room this week. We PARTIED more with double digit addition. We learned about parallel lines and angles. We also made a shape museum! Organism Oscillations started again this week. We love this time! In Daily 5 we wrote about imaginary fish. Then in art we learned about Picasso. We had the best week EVER!

Our class did many things our first week of 2011! In Morning Meeting we learned the snowball greeting. We started having a Double Digit Addition Party EVERY day and it is really fun! In math we are also learning about points, lines, and shapes in space. We started recording the weather each day in our "What's it like outside?". In Daily 5 we learned a new strategy for expanding our vocabulary: Read Voraciously! 2011 is going to ROCK!
