We did many fun things this first week of spring! Everyone learned about and drew the elf owl. Our class read The Cactus Hotel, finished a book report with a partner, and made our own cactus hotel. We finished our groundhog stories. In math, we learned about measurement. We painted tulips like another famous artist Mrs. S taught us about. Mrs. F mailed off her (and ours too) work for National Boards too. These are the great things we did this week!

In class this week we had lots of fun! We've been learning about fractions in math. They are awesome! In science we are learning more about the desert. Our class is even growing a Saguaro Cactus! We hope we will see it grow (even if it is just a little). Some of us are finished with our groundhog stories. We are making covers and publishing them. We hope they will be in stores soon!!! We are almost done with our read-aloud, Matilda. She's been getting into a lot of trouble! These are the fun things we've been doing.

There were many things that we did in second grade this week! We did lots of learning about the desert. In Daily 5 we worked on our groundhog stories. The leprechauns left us lollipops on Saint Patrick's Day. We learned about the parts of speech and wrote sentences about rainbows. In math we had our Unit 7 Test. These are a few of the things we did in school.

Lots of wicked cool things happened at Discovery this week! During Daily 5 our owls started writing! Together we worked hard on writing our own groundhog stories like Mrs. F's. Our class started studying the desert in science. Second Graders did the CogAT and SOI tests. We made leprechauns to decorate our room. These are the neat things that happened at school!

Our class did many things the first week after Mid-Winter Break! We wrote acrostic poems about weather. Mrs. F started writing a GIGANTIC story titled WAKE UP, Groundhog!. We learned about time and made colorful clocks. Everyone also made owl puppets after reading a story about owls. Starting this week whoever gets to sit in the beanbag chair also gets to sit on a ball chair for the day! We dropped everything to read in celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!!! These are some of the things we did this week after Mid-Winter Break.
